MLL Academy

 MLL Academy is the newest medical aesthetic training institute on the block! We are young but we are all about the depths of it. We, like many of you reading this, have been in a position of new career change and advancing our skills in the industry we feel most passionate about. We understand how importantly keen individuals seek a real comprehensive program for the medical aesthetic services – this is why we are here.

We have designed and curated our training programs to be like no other. We focus on the science behind the treatment, the principles of each treatment, the safety, infection control, client retainment, insurance, purchasing –everything you need to know from A to Z. We also have a huge focus on practical techniques to help you find your groove and what works for you. We focus on each individual’s background and group each class accordingly, so students are with like-minded individuals, creating networking opportunities.

We want to help prospective students build a proper foundation for their careers within the medical aesthetic industry. Our goal is to provide theoretical AND real practical, hands-on training and experience in a supportive atmosphere. We recognize the demand and the desire for more educational services and mentorship in this industry; we are here to change the game.

MLL Academy was conceived under the banner of My Laser Lady – one of the most highly regarded laser clinics in the Greater Toronto Area. The link between the two entities provides students with an exclusive opportunity to gain exposure to a real clinic environment under the guidance of trained professionals and engage with our team members to learn about real patient results.

Joti has been in the aesthetic and medical aesthetic industries for over 15 years. Carrying an extensive background in the world of beauty, Joti is a leading expert in the laser hair removal industry and has had immense experience with multiple technologies that have been on the market to date. Approachable, ambitious, and amicable – Joti is the perfect mentor for those seeking their place in the medical aesthetic industry.

Jasleen Grewal

Trainer | MLL Academy

Jasleen’s background varies from small private clinics to multi-billion-dollar corporations, working in a range of administrative, management, and legal positions. Her rounded experience has provided her with a creative edge that has driven her way to MLL Academy. Outstandingly organized and optimistic, Jasleen is an ideal consultant for students who are pursuing their craft.

Laser Hair Removal Training

The MLL Academy – Laser Hair Removal Training course is delivered on a theoretical, practical, and examination basis. The comprehensive program is offered in small and intimate class sizes that are curated for a more personalized learning experience and is designed for individuals looking to get started or further their skills. Over the course of 2 consecutive days, students will learn about the science behind laser hair removal treatments and will be able to apply theoretical concepts to the practicum portion of the program. The course combines both lecture-based and in-clinic segments, allowing students to be set up for success in becoming an MLL Certified Laser Hair Removal Technician.

Course Curriculum: The Laser Hair Removal Training course provided by MLL Academy will provide theoretical concepts and hands-on training for students. This is a beginner to intermediate program. Applicants will be grouped with other students based on their knowledge of the industry in efforts to create a more tailored experience for the students.

Will I be able to provide laser treatments legally upon completion of this course?

Yes! Upon completion of our 2-day laser hair removal training programs, students will be be able to provide LHR treatments.

How much is the laser hair removal training program?

The cost of the group training program is $2,700 plus HST. The cost of the private one-on-one training program is $3,500 plus HST.

How long is the program?

The laser hair removal training programs, both group and private, are over the course of 2-days from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Depending on the group or individual, class may run longer. We want to make sure you are fully equipped and comfortable before you leave!

How many students?

The group training program consists of 4 students. This program has been designed to address small class sizes to not only limit additional exposure throughout the 2 days and to provide a more personable, comfortable experience.

How much hands on?

We spend roughly 8-10 hours on hands-on training! For this part of the program, students will be required to perform treatments on each other in order to gain a thorough understanding of the association between patient and provider which consists of bedside manner, laser pressure, and etiquette.

What machine?

We train using the same machines we use in our studios: Soprano ICE and Soprano Platinum.

Do we receive a certificate after?

Absolutely! You will receive a certification upon completion of the program stating you are an MLL Certified Laser Hair Removal Technician.

Can I open my own clinic after?

Yes! Not only do we certify you as a Laser Hair Removal Technician, but we also supply you with all the industry contacts you need in order to get your own business started; everything from suppliers, lawyers, insurance, and more!

Do I need to arrange a model?

Students only need to arrange a model if they are registering for the private one-on-one program. Model will be required to attend half of Day 1 and all of Day 2.

Is there a dress code?

Yes. Students are required to dress professionally and neat. Clothes must be clean and comfortable shoes (running shoes are fine!) are to be worn. Do not wear any loose or hanging clothing or oversized ponchos.

How do I register for the laser hair removal training programs?

A $500 deposit is required to be made in order to hold your seat. This deposit goes towards your payment for the course. Remaining payment will be due 2 weeks before your course date.

Microneedling Training

MLL

The Microneedling Training program consists of 1-day of theoretical and practical training. While the theoretical aspect of the program will provide insight and knowledge on the foundation of CIT principles, the practical portion of the program is designed to provide each student with hands-on experience working within a real clinical setting. For this program, students will be required to provide Microneedling treatment to live models.

The program will emphasize on sterilization and general precautions, physiology of the skin, client consultations and contraindications, administering preoperative and postoperative treatment protocol, anaesthetic safety and topical application, step-by-step clinical treatment protocol, regulatory information, and marketing your business.

Students will be supplied with the following:

Yes! Upon completion of our 1-day Microneedling training program, students will be able to provide microneedling treatments.

How much is the Microneedling training program?

The cost of the Microneedling training program is $1,299 plus HST.

How long is the program?

The Microneedling training program is over the course of 1-day from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Depending on the group or individual, class may run longer. We want to make sure you are fully equipped and comfortable before you leave!

How many students?

This training program consists of either 2 or 4 students. This program has been designed to address small class sizes to not only limit additional exposure throughout the 2 days and to provide a more personable, comfortable experience.

How much hands-on?

We spend roughly 4-5 hours on hands-on training! For this part of the program, students will be required to perform treatments on each other in order to gain a thorough understanding of the association between patient and provider which consists of bedside manner, microneedling pressure, and etiquette.

What products/technology is used for this course?

We pride ourselves in teaching the MLL way to our students. Therefore, we use the same technology and products that we use in our clinic! Our microneedling technology is the eDermaStamp by DermaSpark, and we use Dr.Schrammek products for the treatment.

Are student kits supplied?

Yes! We have created the most essential Microneedling Kit you will need to get started. It includes the Dr. Pen A6 device kit, BioOxy Pure Hyaluronic Acid, Zensa Topical Anaesthetic, Dr. Schrammek Probiosense, Dr Schrammek Sensiderm Sun Cream SPF 50, and a couple of our favorite Collagen Hydrating Masks! Each kit is a valued over $350.

Do we receive a certificate after?

Absolutely! You will receive a certification upon completion of the program stating you are an MLL Certified in Microneedling Treatments.

MLL

The MLL Signature Booty Smoothie Training Course is 1-day program consisting of theoretical and practical training. Student will learn how to provide facial treatments to the buttocks by following a cutting-edge curriculum that provides a comprehensive overview of the anatomy of the skin. Our students are taught how to correctly identify skin conditions and contraindications. Upon completing this program, you will have acquired the necessary skills to give an effective booty facial that helps prevent ingrown hairs, reduces the appearance of impurities, and also softens the skin!

The program will emphasize on product selection, administering preoperative and postoperative treatment protocol, client consultations, skin type analyses, pricing, medical history analyses, and marketing your business.

The cost of the Booty Smoothie training program is $1,500 plus HST.

How long is the program?

This is a 1-day program! We start at 9:00am and finish at 5:00pm. Depending on the group or individual, class may run longer. We want to make sure you are fully equipped and comfortable before you leave!

How many students?

This training program consists of either 2 or 4 students. This program has been designed to address small class sizes to not only limit additional exposure throughout the 2 days and to provide a more personable, comfortable experience.

How much hands on?

Are student kits supplied?

Yes! We have created the most essential Booty Smoothie kit for our students! In your kit, you will receive a jute bag full of products from one of our favorite lines: California Mango. These products are 100% vegan and include exfoliating body scrub, body massage cream, body lotion, hydrating body mist, skin balm, lip balm, and cuticle oil. Perfect starter kit for your Booty Smoothie treatments on any client!

Do we receive a certificate after?

Absolutely! You will receive a certification upon completion of the program stating you are an MLL Certified in Booty Smoothie Treatments.

The Dermaplaning course a full day program going over both theoretical and practical training. While the theoretical aspect of the program will provide insight and knowledge on the foundation of basic principles of the treatments, the practical portion of the program is designed to provide each student with hands-on experience working within a real clinical setting. Students will be able to provide Dermaplaning treatments to live models.
